MacPractice Supports MacSpeech's New Transcription And iPhone Add-ons For Medical Speech Recognition

Macworld Expo 2010 Demos Highlight Benefits To Doctors Using MacPractice 3.7 With MacSpeech Scribe Medical and "via Dictate"

San Francisco, February 11, 2010 - Macworld Expo 2010 -- MacPractice, Inc., the leading Apple developer of practice management and clinical software for medical and dental offices, today demonstrated for the first time ever how MacPractice 3.7 works with the newly announced MacSpeech Scribe Medical and "via Dictate". MacPractice is presenting the demos at Macworld Expo 2010, in MacSpeech's booth #972. Earlier today MacSpeech introduced MacSpeech Scribe Medical transcription and offered a sneak peak version of their "via Dictate" iPhone client for MacSpeech Dictate Medical. MacPractice is also demonstrating their new MacPractice 3.7 at Macworld Expo booth #748.

"MacPractice is proud to partner with MacSpeech on demonstrating how our practice and clinical management software works with their speech recognition solution to revolutionize a doctor's practice," said Mark Hollis, President of MacPractice. "We are excited to collaborate with MacSpeech to offer the new, advanced MacSpeech Scribe Medical and 'via Dictate' along with our MacPractice MD, DDS, DC and 20/20 products. Together we can give medical professionals greater productivity, while potentially saving tens of thousands of dollars in transcription fees every year."

MacSpeech Scribe Medical adds medical transcription functionality with a single button click to MacSpeech Dictate Medical. This solution lets a doctor create up to six individual speech profiles to ensure maximum transcription accuracy for up to six different voices, and it supports more than 54 medical and dental specialty vocabularies.

MacSpeech's "via Dictate" app, featured in a sneak peak at Macworld Expo, allows the iPhone or iPod touch to be used as a remote microphone extension of MacSpeech Dictate Medical. The app is intended for distribution at no additional cost, and requires Mac OS X Snow Leopard and MacSpeech Dictate running on a Mac accessible by via Dictate. The sneak peak demonstrations are exclusively for attendees at Macworld Conference and Expo 2010.

Registered MacSpeech Dictate Medical users can add MacSpeech Scribe Medical directly from MacSpeech's web site (www.macspeech.com) for US $99. MacSpeech Dictate Medical, including the Scribe add-on, with an enhanced, USB headset microphone, will be available in March for $695. Pre-availability orders are being accepted by MacPractice, with free shipping. MacSpeech Dictate Medical with Scribe is expected to ship in March.
