Lincoln, NE December 17, 2007 - MacPractice, Inc., the leading developer of practice management software and clinical applications designed especially for Mac OS X, announced the release of the MacPractice EMR (Electronic Medical Records) for eye doctors.

MacPractice, Inc. has taken the forms ophthalmologist and optometrists use and has created more efficient electronic versions for use with MacPractice EMR. MacPractice EMR is designed to make it easy for eye doctors who use MacPractice 20/20 with MacPractice EMR to customize the forms provided by MacPractice and create new ones. MacPractice 20/20 is a specialized version of MacPractice MD with the added abilities to create eyeglass and lens prescriptions and retain frame information.
Eye doctors can create and interact with clinical data including health history and clinical notes with graphic annotations. Narratives are auto-generated with form data. Patient data entered elsewhere in MacPractice can be displayed on forms using "Pull Fields." Creating EMR forms automatically creates new tables in the MacPractice MySQL database.
MacPractice 20/20 practice management software features Notes (integrated word processing), Attachments, powerful scheduling, treatment plans, billing and other components which are becoming even more tightly integrated within MacPractice EMR as the interface rapidly evolves.
The Introductory Price through December 31, 2007 for MacPractice EMR for eye doctors is $2500 plus $500 annually for support and updates.
