MacPractice EMR Updated, Adds Charge Coding, Enhanced Narrative Reports

Lincoln, NE October 23, 2008 - MacPractice, Inc., the leading practice management and clinical software application developer for Apple computers, announces a major update to MacPractice EMR (Electronic Medical Records). MacPractice MD with EMR is the only single-vendor fully integrated EMR and practice management solution designed for Mac OS X.

With updated MacPractice EMR, doctors can record patient visits with procedure code(s) and diagnoses for review by their biller who may approve and post the charges with just a few clicks. This new feature streamlines communication between billing and clinical areas, eliminates redundant data entry, and eliminates the necessity for paper encounter forms.

Patient demographic information and preselected information collected on an easily customizable EMR form at a patient visit may be merged into MacPractice EMR's enhanced narrative report where it can be edited in a full-featured text editor.

A narrative report may be merged into a pre-defined location in a MacPractice Note template (MacPractice Note is the full-featured word processor built into MacPractice) by clicking and dragging. With ease and efficiency, a doctor can automatically generate a letter and envelope addressed to a referring doctor, for example, properly associated with a patient's record.

MacPractice EMR is easy to use, affordable, time-saving, and customizable! MacPractice EMR for MacPractice MD and MacPractice 20/20 is available through December 31, 2008 for $3500 plus $500 annually for support and updates.

Nearly 300 of the 2300 doctors' offices with MacPractice software have purchased MacPractice EMR since its initial release in December, 2007. MacPractice has collaborated with these offices to create efficient electronic clinical forms for 32 specialties to date. MacPractice keeps the cost of EMR low and reduces development time by sharing forms among the community of MacPractice clients. MacPractice also makes it easy for doctors to customize forms themselves.

"In less than a year from introduction of MacPractice EMR, MacPractice is both the leading EMR vendor for Mac OS X and one of the leading EMR vendors in the industry. Doctors have responded resoundingly to our emphasis on ease of use, low cost, and customizability" said Mark Hollis, President of MacPractice.

Doctors are encouraged to register at MacPractice.com to view QuickTime demonstration movies of MacPractice EMR, MacPractice DDS, MD, DC, and 20/20.
