Lincoln, NE, January 24, 2005 MacPractice, Inc. announces the March release of all new Mac OS X practice management software for doctors' offices, MacPractice MD for physicians, MacPractice DDS for dentists and MacPractice DC for Chiropractors, on schedule as promised.
MacHealth clients will use the first release of a data migrator to transfer their MediMac, DentalMac or ChiroMac patient records into MacPractice software. This migrator will also help users of other practice management applications to get patient data they have collected over years easily into MacPractice MD, DDS or DC.
MacPractice is suite of Cocoa applications that use Apple's Cocoa development tools and the industry-standard, battle-tested MySQL open source database. The first release will have integrated accounting, patient and insurance billing, and management and database reports "Abilities." Scheduling and EClaims will be available in the 2nd quarter. A free offer of MacPractice shipping software, including scheduling and EClaims, for customers who subscribe to telephone support from MacPractice for MediMac, DentalMac or ChiroMac has been extended to January 31, 2005. Interested doctors who have no practice management software currently or use a different program have until March 15 to get free software.
MacPractice users will be able to search for patients by multiple criteria in an easy to use "single window" interface. An office manager can display an "Instant Report" of patients with a particular insurance plan or all the patients referred by another provider with one click of the mouse. Reports Ability in March and EClaims Ability in the 2nd quarter may be used from a terminal without interfering with data entry elsewhere within the office.
MacPractice features a HIPAA compliant accounting Ability, designed to address today's insurance environment. It is incident-based, with open-item accounting, and of course it separates patient from insurance balance and will facilitate batch posting.
MacPractice is the only company that supports the submission from MediMac and ChiroMac to ProxyMed.
The new MacPractice programs are designed and developed by a team of 11 software engineers, at the direction of Patrick Clyne, the original designer who led the development of MediMac, ChiroMac and DentalMac.
Mark Hollis, President and Director of Customer Relations says, "MediMac, ChiroMac and DentalMac users receive 90% of support calls answered live daily by MacPractice's expert and highly experienced personnel."
